Check: Simply send a check to: SMI, P.O. Box 26500, Akron, Ohio 44319-6500. Include a note stating the desired intent of the gift if you wish to designate the funds.

Direct Deposit: If you are interested in giving regularly please contact us for details.

Online: If you desire to give online you can simply give through our PayPal account.


Our Pledge to You

• Know what the programs you support are accomplishing.
• Know that the mission complies with federal, state, and municipal laws.
• Restrict or designate your gifts to a particular project within the mission’s objectives.
• Receive a timely and courteous response to your inquiries about finances and programs.
• Visit office and program sites of the mission to talk personally with the staff.
• Give cheerfully without being pressured by the mission.
• Know that all appeals for funds are truthful and accurate.


As a mission we seek to have the highest standard in the area of stewardship. It is our goal to have integrity and to be transparent. We are governed by a Board of Directors and have a voluntary audit every year that is conducted by Midcap & Company. In addition to this, copies of the form 990 are available here.

Note: While SMI accepts contributions with regard to donor designation, to fulfill IRS requirements all contributions to SMI must be considered as belonging fully to the mission and are subject to its control.
